Nevada Nursing License Guide

Registered nurses who wish to travel and hold a current nursing license in another state or U.S. territory can apply for licensure by endorsement through the Nevada State Board of Nursing.When applying, you’ll need to submit:

  • A completed application via the Nevada Nurse Portal, including a fee of $105 (RN)
  • A copy of evidence of graduation from your nursing education program; the document must indicate the nursing degree and graduation date.
  • Official verification (or endorsement) from your original state of licensure. If that state is enrolled in Nursys, you must submit verification through this system.

Nevada’s Board of Nursing will generally issue a temporary nursing license within 1-2 weeks of receipt.

What To Know About The Renewing Process

Simple Process

A Nevada nurse license can be renewed every two years, and nurses are encouraged to register with Nursys e-Notify, which supplies information on license renewals. Nurses will not receive renewal notices from the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

RNs applying for their Nevada nursing license renewal will need to complete 30 hours of continuing education within the license period, and a one-time bioterrorism course. Renewals must be submitted online with a renewal fee of $100.
